Markdown to PDF

A Markdown to PDF converter turns Markdown text into a printable, paginated PDF document. This page renders your Markdown locally with a browser Markdown parser, applies a print stylesheet, and uses your browser's own Save as PDF print destination. Nothing is uploaded to a server and no remote PDF API is called.

Updated

Paste Markdown, check the print preview, and press Save as PDF. Headings, lists, GFM tables, fenced code, links, and blockquotes are styled for paper with A4 or US Letter page size and sensible margins.

The PDF comes from your browser's print engine, so text stays selectable and searchable and Unicode scripts such as Hindi or Tamil render with your system fonts. Scripts and embeds in the Markdown are stripped before preview. Closing the tab drops the paste — we do not write it to localStorage.

How does the Markdown to PDF work?

  1. 1. Paste Markdown

Paste a README, notes, or a brief. GFM tables, lists, fenced code, and blockquotes are supported.

  2. 2. Check the print preview

The document renders in an isolated preview frame with a print stylesheet. Pick A4 or US Letter and set the PDF title.

  3. 3. Save as PDF

Press Save as PDF and choose Save as PDF (or Microsoft Print to PDF) as the destination in the print dialog.

  4. 4. Close the tab

Nothing was uploaded. Closing the tab clears the workspace.

Questions about Markdown to PDF

How do I convert Markdown to PDF with this tool?
Paste your Markdown, review the print preview, then press Save as PDF. Your browser opens its print dialog — pick Save as PDF (Chrome, Edge, Firefox, Safari) or Microsoft Print to PDF as the destination and save the file.
Is my Markdown uploaded to a server?
No. Markdown is parsed and rendered in this tab, and the PDF is written by your own browser's print engine. Page Utils does not receive the text, and the paste is not saved to localStorage.
Is the text in the PDF selectable?
Yes. Browser print-to-PDF produces vector text, not a screenshot, so you can select, copy, and search text in the saved PDF.
Does it support tables, code blocks, and Unicode?
GFM pipe tables, fenced and inline code, headings, ordered and unordered lists, links, and blockquotes are styled for print. Non-Latin scripts such as Devanagari or Tamil render with the fonts installed on your device.
Can I choose page size or remove the header and footer?
Choose A4 or US Letter on the page. Browser-added headers and footers (date, URL, page numbers) are controlled in the print dialog under More settings — untick Headers and footers for a clean page.
Is raw HTML inside the Markdown kept?
Simple inline HTML is kept, but scripts, iframes, embeds, forms, and inline event handlers are stripped before the preview renders. This is a document export helper, not a CMS sanitizer.
Is there a separate /md-to-pdf/ page?
No. One canonical address with a trailing slash: /text-utilities/markdown-to-pdf/. There is no /md-to-pdf/ slug.

These tools run in your browser. Page Utils does not store, upload, or write to localStorage the keys, tokens, or text you paste. Results are a convenience aid, not legal, tax, or security advice.
