llms.txt Generator
An llms.txt generator builds a curated markdown file to guide AI crawlers on your website. This one formats a site name, description, and key page links in your browser. It does not fetch your URL, require an account, or sell AI overview citations — llms.txt is a proposed convention. Output is honest markdown.
Add your site details and important links to the list. The tool updates the markdown locally so the output remains clean. Copy the text when you are done. llms.txt is a community-proposed convention to help AI agents understand your docs, not a Google ranking factor.
Place the file at the root of your domain. The workspace stays in this tab; we do not write your text to localStorage or upload it.
Add a site name. The generator will not invent a placeholder site.
One paragraph. Emitted as a markdown blockquote under the H1.
Optional background. Keep this as paragraphs or lists — avoid extra H2 headings.
Rows stay in this tab. Incomplete links are omitted. We do not fetch URLs, write to localStorage, or upload this draft. llms.txt is a proposed convention (llmstxt.org) — not a Google ranking factor and not a way to buy AI Overview citations.
How does the llms.txt Generator work?
1. Add site details
Type the site name (used as the H1), a one-paragraph description, and optional background. The name is required; an empty name shows an inline error and does not emit a fake site.
2. Add key pages
List important URLs with a label and an optional one-line note. Add or remove rows as needed, up to 20 links. The tool does not fetch those URLs.
3. Generate locally
The page formats llmstxt.org-style markdown in this tab as you type. Nothing is sent to our servers, written to localStorage, or passed to a remote model.
4. Copy the output
Press Copy to put the markdown on your clipboard. Paste it at https://your-domain/llms.txt after you review it. Close the tab to clear the workspace.
Questions about llms.txt Generator
- What does this llms.txt generator do?
- It drafts a curated markdown file in the llmstxt.org style. You add a site name, a short description, optional background, and key page links. The page formats that copy in your browser so you can paste it at your origin as /llms.txt. It does not fetch your website, crawl URLs, or call a remote model to write the file.
- Will an llms.txt file improve my Google ranking?
- No. llms.txt is a community-proposed convention (llmstxt.org) to help AI agents find curated context about a site. It is not a Google ranking factor, it does not buy AI Overview citations, and it does not place you in ChatGPT. Treat the output as a draft you host yourself, not as a search-engine submission.
- Does this llms.txt generator upload my site copy?
- No. The generator runs entirely in your browser tab. We do not write your text to localStorage, and we do not upload it to Page Utils servers. Closing the tab drops the workspace. That is the same privacy rule we use for the robots.txt maker and FAQ schema generator.
- Where should I put the llms.txt file I copy?
- At the origin root: https://your-domain/llms.txt — the same pattern as robots.txt. Some sites also publish a file under a docs path. This maker only drafts the markdown in your browser; you still paste it into your host or repo. Page Utils never fetches or publishes the file for you.
- Is there an /in/ URL for this llms.txt generator?
- No. Each tool has one canonical address on pageutils.com, with a trailing slash. Bookmark /seo-tools/llms-txt-generator/ from India or anywhere else. We do not duplicate SEO tools under a country prefix, because a second URL would split the canonical address search engines and people should share.
- Does this tool crawl my site or replace Search Console?
- No. It is a drafting utility. Nothing is fetched from your domain, and Page Utils does not inspect a live llms.txt. Submit sitemaps and inspect coverage in Google Search Console or Bing Webmaster Tools. An llms.txt you copy from this page still has to live on your origin, and it will not substitute for webmaster tools.
